If you've been touring new construction in North Houston, you've likely seen Westin Homes. They're active in Colton in Magnolia and Kresston in Magnolia, and currently running one of the most aggressive incentive packages we track: up to $75,000 off select inventory homes. This review is based on firsthand community visits and weekly data we collect across 20 North Houston communities.
Who Is Westin Homes?
Westin Homes is a privately held Texas builder headquartered in Houston. Founded in 1991, they build exclusively in the Houston metro - which matters. Unlike national builders spread thin across dozens of markets, Westin focuses entirely on Texas and has built over 10,000 homes here. Their official website lists active communities, though incentive data there is rarely current - we track it weekly instead.
Floor Plans and Build Quality
Westin builds in the $350K-$700K range in their North Houston communities. Floor plans skew larger - most homes run 2,400-4,000 sq ft with open-concept layouts and 10-foot first-floor ceilings as standard, not an upgrade. A few things buyers consistently notice:
- Generous standard lot sizes relative to price compared to DR Horton or Lennar at the same price point
- Structural flexibility - extended covered patios and media rooms available at reasonable upgrade costs
- Consistent quality - mid-tier alongside Perry Homes and David Weekley, not luxury but not entry-level
The Better Business Bureau rates them A+. Their warranty is standard Texas 1-2-10 coverage.
Active Communities
Colton (Magnolia, TX)
Colton is a large master-planned community off FM 1488 developed by Johnson Development. Westin is one of several builders alongside Perry Homes, Village Builders, and David Weekley. Their section features larger floor plans in the 3,000-4,000 sq ft range for move-up buyers. See our full Colton profile for current inventory and pricing.
Kresston (Magnolia, TX)
Kresston features five builders creating genuine competition - when one moves on price or incentives, others respond. See the Kresston community profile. Westin's homes here run larger and on more generous lots than competing builders in the same community.
Westin Incentives: What We're Seeing Right Now
We're currently tracking up to $75,000 off select inventory homes at both Colton and Kresston under Westin's Summer Savings promotion. This applies to homes sitting in inventory - which signals motivated seller pricing. The $75K is the ceiling; actual discounts vary by home. Builders also regularly layer additional concessions on top of published promotions on homes that have been on the market 90+ days.
Set up a Westin Homes deal alert and we'll notify you the moment incentives change.
